Counseling Student Support Services

At Benjamin Banneker Academy, our counselors worked collaboratively to provide both direct and indirect services to support the academic and social/emotional development of all scholars with the goal of creating a college and career ready scholar.

Direct services that are in place include but are not limited to classroom activities/lessons, group activities, individual/group counseling, crisis counseling, and annual individual progress reviews.

Indirect services that are offered include outside referrals for scholars and families to provide resources to better serve our scholars, and consultation with school staff, families, and the community to develop interventions for scholars.

Working Papers

All students are required to secure Working Papers prior to employment.

All students between the ages of 14 – 17 need Working papers for employment.

Students should bring a Certificate of Physical Fitness from a physician, a copy of their Social Security Card and a copy of their birth certificate to their Guidance Counselor.
